About SAPTCO Saudi Public Transport Company
SAPTCO — the Saudi Public Transport Company — is the Kingdom's national bus operator. It was founded in 1399 AH (1979) and is listed on the Saudi Exchange with a paid-up capital of SAR 1.25 billion. Besides scheduled city and intercity lines, SAPTCO runs a Specialized Services division that charters coaches for Hajj, Umrah and tourism groups.
For pilgrim groups the division offers four coach classes: VVIP with 15–28 seats, VIP with 28–49 seats, economy with 47–49 seats and 12-seat mini VIP vehicles — so a family group and a 200-pilgrim programme can both be matched to the right vehicle. In the Naqaba transport register SAPTCO holds 2,028 buses.
