Nusuk: Your Gateway to Hajj & Umrah
Nusuk is Saudi Arabia’s official digital platform for planning and managing every stage of a pilgrimage — Umrah permits, Hajj registration, Rawdah visits, transport, and accommodation — in a single trusted place. This guide explains what Nusuk is, how its services fit together, and exactly how to create your account.
What is Nusuk?
Launched in September 2022 by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Nusuk is the unified electronic gateway to Makkah and Madinah. It brought together services that were previously spread across separate apps — including the Umrah and prayer permits once handled by Eatmarna — into one platform used by tens of millions of pilgrims and visitors.
Nusuk works across a mobile app (iOS and Android) and web channels, and is available in around 25 languages. Whether you are performing Umrah, registering for Hajj, or reserving a moment in the Rawdah of the Prophet’s Mosque, Nusuk is the official starting point — designed to make sacred travel simpler, more structured, and protected from unauthorised agents.

How to create your Nusuk account
Registration takes only a few minutes and is the single gateway to Umrah permits, Hajj packages, and Rawdah bookings. Follow these steps on the official site (nusuk.sa) or in the Nusuk app.
-
Open the official platform
Go to nusuk.sa in your browser, or download the Nusuk app from the App Store or Google Play. Always start from the official source to avoid fraudulent copies.
-
Select your country of residence
Choose the country you are applying from. This sets the correct services, visa options, and Hajj eligibility for your location.
-
Enter your email and accept the terms
Provide a valid email address and agree to the platform’s terms and conditions to begin creating your profile.
-
Verify with the one-time code
Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your email to confirm the address belongs to you.
-
Set a secure password
Create a strong password for your account. This, together with your email, is how you will sign in from outside Saudi Arabia.
-
Upload your documents
Add the required files — typically a clear passport copy, a personal photo, and proof of residence — so your identity can be verified.
-
Add family members (optional)
You can group up to seven family members under a single account, so you register and book for your whole party together.
-
Sign in and start booking
Once verified, your account is ready. Continue to your Umrah visa, a Hajj package, or a Rawdah reservation — each covered on its own guide below.
The Nusuk Card — your digital pilgrim ID
Issued to pilgrims through the platform, the Nusuk Card links your identity to your permits, bookings, and entitlements. It streamlines access and verification during Hajj and Umrah, and can be reached digitally through your Nusuk profile.
Common issues & quick fixes
Verification is stuck or pending
Make sure your uploaded passport and photo are clear, well-lit, and match your details. Blurry or cropped images are the most common reason approval is delayed.
The app won’t open or load
Update to the latest version, check your internet connection, and restart the app. During peak Hajj and Umrah seasons, try again outside the busiest hours.
Wrong country selected
Your country of residence controls visa options and Hajj eligibility. If you chose the wrong one, review your profile settings before starting an application.
Forgot your password
Use the “forgot password” option on the sign-in screen to reset it via your registered email. Residents in the Kingdom should sign in through Nafath instead.
Frequently asked questions
Is Nusuk free to use?
Yes. Creating a Nusuk account and using the app are free, and Umrah permits are issued at no charge. Visas, Hajj and Umrah packages, transport, and accommodation booked through the platform have their own separate costs set by the authorised service providers.
Is Nusuk mandatory for Hajj and Umrah?
For international pilgrims from serviced countries, Nusuk Hajj is the only authorised channel to register and book a Hajj package under the Direct Hajj Program. Umrah permits inside Saudi Arabia are also issued through Nusuk. In practice, most pilgrims will need a Nusuk account at some stage of their journey.
What is the difference between Nusuk and Eatmarna?
Eatmarna was the earlier app used to book Umrah and prayer permits. Its functions have been integrated into Nusuk, which is now the single unified platform of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. If you previously used Eatmarna, you now use Nusuk instead.
Can I book flights and hotels on Nusuk?
Nusuk includes accommodation and transport within its packages and can be used to book the Haramain High-Speed Train. To compare a wide range of flights and hotels independently, most travellers use dedicated travel search platforms alongside Nusuk — such as the flight and hotel tools on this site.
What languages does Nusuk support?
The Nusuk platform is available in around 25 languages across its app and web channels, making it accessible to pilgrims and visitors from around the world.
Do I need Nafath to use Nusuk?
Residents and citizens inside Saudi Arabia sign in to Nusuk using Nafath, the national digital identity app. International pilgrims outside the Kingdom create a Nusuk account with their email address instead.
